1966
Autotrans is established on 1 March 1966 by haulage contractor Per Thygesen.
The firm is run from Ole Rømersvej 8 in Kolding and primarily transports general cargo and truckloads to European free ports for subsequent shipment to overseas destinations.
The firm becomes something of a specialist at dealing with the comprehensive paperwork.
ATK still engages in this field of activity.
1979
Henrik Thygesen takes over the firm from his father.
1983
Finn Nissen joins the firm to add the transporting of iron and steel products, especially from the Ruhr area, an activity which soon proves a success.
1984
The company is incorporated as a private limited company with Finn Nissen as co-owner.
1991
Finn Nissen acquires the entire company. Assisted by a loyal team of seven employees, he runs the company single-handedly.
2001
Space runs out at the premises at Ole Rømersvej, and in December the company moves to new premises with a newly constructed high-ceilinged warehouse at Korsvej 9 in Kolding – close to the motorway network.
2001
A smooth business succession plan is initiated with Lars Jeppesen acquiring a 25% ownership stake, which is subsequently increased to 30%.
2003
Søren K. Sørensen takes over 5% of the share capital. He subsequently increases his ownership stake to 10%.
2005
Claus Schønwandt acquires 5% of the share capital, which is further increased on 1 July 2006 to 10%. 50% of the share capital is thereby owned by the employees.
2008
Business succession in ATK. Finn Nissen leaves the company and Lars Jeppesen assumes the reins with Søren K. Sørensen and Claus Schønwandt as partners.
To handle sales and development activities, on 1 May Kurt Drejer is appointed, who has been employed for the past 25 years at Fredericia Shipping A/S.
